When we integrate someone with special needs we have the hope that all the resources that have been developed for the integration will overflow to the the rest of the community. In the case of my son, Juanjo, the teacher detected he was needing support for reading early in first grade. She selected him to participate in a program sponsored by Apple. The Apple employees, here in Cupertino, volunteer in the public schools. Israel was Juanjo´s Apple friend through the year. They met at school on a weekly basis and enjoy their time reading together. Apple invited all the students that participated in the program to have lunch at the Headquarters in Infinite Loop to finish the school year. Evidently this program was developed for kids with special needs and now all are being helped. Juanjo wear the Newman shirt, we hope that in Newman they could also harvest the fruits of this new trend they are undertaking.
